Hook

1. Would you rather walk for 14 minutes in the freezing cold? Or six minutes?  Pretty easy choice for most people. However, this 14 minute walk becomes a reality for a large number of dorm each and every weekend walking to the CRWC. Fitness East is a great option for during the week, but each weekend it closes its doors, and leaves hundreds of kids with the horrendous task of walking a long desolate journey.

Fitness East is more easily accessible to large number of East Side dorm students.                       In this speech, I will argue that Fitness East should be open on the weekends. During the weekend, college students have better chances of finding a time to work out. Additionally, if working out every day is important, like it is for me, having to forgo working out on some weekend days messes ...

Speech 2

This assignment asks us to make a proposal about a problem that we think is extremely urgent. We need to effectively communicate why this is an issue, using real life examples and personal experience. We then need to come up with a solution, and persuade the audience using rhetorical strategies that the solution will be effective. This proposal is not about a few different small solution, it is about an overarching solution that needs to be effectively explained. This speech needs to be well organized, and clearly broken into an intro, body, and conclusion. 1. Are there any specific topic examples we can see?
